With all of this activity, the community of Lebanon was founded in 1860. In 1902, a line of the St. Louis-San Francisco Railway was being built through the area and periodic watering holes were needed along the rails for the steam engines. A watering hole was placed about four miles to the west of the Lebanon community on lower ground and residents of Lebanon moved their houses to the new community around this train stop. In 1904, the residents named their new town Frisco City in honor of the St. Louis-San Francisco railway that founded the young city. It was soon shortened to Frisco.
Frisco became a thriving town, serving as a trade center for the surrounding farming community. In 1910, Frisco had a population of 332 pioneers. As of 2013, Frisco shows a population well over 130,000.
